LX - Mea regnum

Summary
LX started life when 2 Star fury players (SF) started to get rather fed up of some of the inadequcies of the game. These 2 players (the current owners) were Dom & Systems.

It was like any other day, Dom was being his typical welsh self and Systems being his normal level of awesome. They had engaged in some light banter discussing the downfalls of SF when Systems turned around to Dom and said "I Bet I could make a better game then this" to wit Dom replied: "No you couldn't" and that day work started on LX.

Yes, originally LX may have started for the sole purpose of proving Dom wrong (which is a worthy cause) but has long since grown into a project that we're all very proud of.

In Depth
a few months after (Around December 05) it's inital conception 'the Dutch one' also known as Fear was invited to join the Admin staff, which he graciously accepted (best we can figure is he was trying to avoid some other work he needed to do). As classically Fear as he was, he promptly idled and is still idle to this day.

The next staff member to join the bandwagon was Prellyan (Need date here) he is pretty much soley responsible for you having a pretty interface to look at! Although being on the opposite side of the world and all of our jobs means it's difficult to see him around too often these days, But we know somewhere right now he'll be enjoying a nice cool beer in a pub on the river somewhere.

Development of LX was coming along nicely and we had a few people quite interested in LX and most agreed that the new features we were bringing to the game were excellent, this period was probably the quickest growth period LX had in terms of development. then....Along came Wangus.
Invited along (need date here) because quite frankly we thought he was going to eat us and this would provide a suitable attraction Wangus brough his development skills to the table (Although seldom used I must say) He's been much more useful in fixing the server whenever I decide to break it (And this has happened on many occasions). it was slightly after this we also invited Dogg to help out moderating the game to to rally some support in his droves of loyal supporters on SF.

In December of 2006 now funded by Systems (following his departure from college into a paying career) we purchased a dedicated server to run LX and all of it's services, along with the new server we started to turn LX into a whole portal rather then just a game website, We brought our 2 domain names (lx-online.co.uk & lxwars.co.uk) and moved our IRC server to the new server, we've got added forums and many other sub-sites to lx, we started cleaning up the code and coding enviroment (we introduced SVN) and generally turned LX from something that felt like a pet project (which is what it started at) into a what it is now.

The most recent addition to the team has been S (need date here) who has created pretty much all of the javascript that you will see on the website. he's the second most active programmer on LX after Systems although with his new job and his millions of lady friends has had unfortunatly little time to contribute (You'll see him on every so often, just long enough to fling a few insults at a random selection of people)
S originally created the first version of LX notifier (a development version for the staff). Systems has since re-coded it into the application it is now. we're proud of this addition to our game, it's something that sets us out abit more from the crowd and gives the user more involvement in the game if he chooses.
Unfortunatly most of us have gotten jobs and other commitments so development of LX has slowed in pace (there are always improvements happen to LX or LX related services/products at the same time as the game itself but it's alot of work for a small development team). no matter how many people will play our game or even if no-one does, we'll stubborn gits and we'll always be around.
